Part Seven! And less than a month from the last one! I know, I am as shocked as you are!

Anyway, here is the latest installment of the trouble three thieves get into when their old boss thinks they are more of a liability than an asset. And we finally find out who Simeon is and why’s he’s trouble for the the thieves of Milieux.

Part one is here. Part two is here. Part three is here. Part four is here. Part five is here. Part six is here. Comments are always welcome!

Haven’t done one of these challenges in a while, but decided to try and knock some of the rust off. So, yes, a story featuring Good and Evil. Or, Good versus Evil. Though this may be more Evil vs. Evil. Ahh well. Enjoy. Original challenge can be found here! (more…)

Nothing like trying to write romance to remind me how bad I am at writing romance. Anyway, this was supposed to be a sword & sorcery/bodice ripper mashup (original challenge here courtesy of Mr. Chuck Wendig). It leans way more heavily on the former than the latter, and for that I apologize. As it is, it’s around 100 words longer than the 1500 mark, but I’m okay with that. This story does take place in the same ‘verse as the Liam the Black stories, but features all new characters. I’m interested to know what you think, so comment away! (more…)

Comments as always are welcome, and I’m curious if recaps are necessary or would be welcome.

So here is part three of “No Honor Among Thieves,” my fantasy piece revolving around thieves in the city of Milieux. This is also it for me for the blog as far as fiction goes until December at the earliest. I’ll (probably) post updates on how the NaNoWriMo project is going, but I’ll be picking up Serpent’s Map and No Honor Among Thieves in December.

As always, like, comment, and share!

This is the second part to “No Honor Among Thieves.” Why write these serials? Mainbly its a way to motivate myself, to get me to write something every week. And, the thought goes, if I manage to write enough words, I can maybe pull this together into something I can publish as a piece. Anyway, you don’t care about all that at all, but rather (hopefully) the actual story. As always, feel free to like, share, and comment. Criticism (of the constructive kind) is always welcome.

This week’s challenge– take three sentences from the plethora found here and work them into a story. And so I give you another sword&sorcery tale, though the emphasis most definitely is on the sword and not the sorcery in this piece.

My three sentences:

  1. “Why do we waste our lives on the quarrels of old men?” he asked. – shaks
  2. “The only thing I know is bad men die old.” – jkflickinger
  3. He tried to get up, but her boot pressed his face deeper into the muck.- Matthew @ThewtheSlightly

So thanks to them! I did decide to revisit an old setting, Milieux, which in many ways is my tribute to Lankhmar. Gray and company are new characters, so I’d love to hear if you’d like to see more of them. As always, comments are appreciated.
